Chateau Burgundy / Gourmet Vineyards & Wine Tastings

  • Saturday 21st December 2019 :
  • Late evening departure via Eurotunnel / overnight travel by private small luxury coach to a splendid 19th Century renovated chateau in the heart of Burgundy.
  • Early morning arrival at the Chateau on Sunday 22nd December.
  • Early check-in to your guest room.
  • Breakfast / *Day at leisure.
  • Light lunch freshly prepared by Chefs.
  • *Relaxation by the fire (roast chestnuts), local walk, Christmas tree decoration, afternoon tea and coffee with cakes etc.
  • Late Afternoon: Two ½ hours Initiation and tips to French cooking class with the Chef on the premises.
  • Aperitif / canapés / gourmet Dinner including wine.
  • Monday 23rd December: Full day to Chablis.
  • Discover the beauty of Chablis vineyard. Stop off on the Chablis Grand Cru hillside and stroll through the Best Chablis appellations. Learn about the specific cultivation methods and Terroir of this specific area. Two wine tastings in a traditional cellar of wines from the Chablis area.
  • Lunch at a local Bistro in the vineyards, nice atmosphere to enjoy typically Burgundy dishes and regional cheeses.
  • Tuesday 24th December: Full day in Beaune.
  • Visit of the Hospices de Beaune L’Hotel Dieu Museum.
  • Afternoon at leisure: Visit of the Christmas market (lunch not included).
  • Return to Chateau: aperitif / canapés / gourmet Dinner including wine.
  • Wednesday 25th December: optional Christmas local morning Mass.
  • Christmas lunch.
  • Day at leisure.
  • Late pm: Two ½ hours initiation and tips to French cooking class with a chef.
  • Aperitif followed by light dinner.
  • Thursday 26th December: Full day in Pommard and the Golden Triangle of Burgundy Great White wines: Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
  • Discover one of the area’s local estates for a private tasting of some of the greatest appellations.
  • Wine tasting lunch at a family estate. Set menu of Burgundy dishes and cheeses to pair with a selection of the estate’s wines.
  • Travel through winemaking villages to the north of the Cote de Beaune. Stop off on the Corton Hillside, a unique location in Burgundy for red and white Grands Crus.
  • Relaxing afternoon around the vineyards. Prestige tasting at a renowned winery: elegant Pinot Noirs and unoaked white wines.
  • Return to Chateau: Aperitif / canapés with gourmet dinner including wine.
  • Friday 27th December: Full day in Dijon and nearby.
  • Visit & tasting of a famous Mustard factory followed by a Bistro lunch in the heart of the Côte de Nuits vineyards.
  • One tasting nearby with spare time to discover the Burgundy plots and vineyards.
  • Visit and tasting at a Burgundy cheesemonger factory.
  • A quick stop at the Chateau du Clos de Vougeot (without a visit) to discover this beautiful monk’s construction built between the 12th and 16th centuries.
  • Return to chateau: aperitif / canapés with farewell gourmet dinner including wine.
  • Saturday 28th December: Departure back to London.
  • Stop en-route to Auxerre at a supermarket for a quick shopping trip with a 50.00 Euro voucher to spend.
What’s included: (based on the stay of 21 guests):
  • Return journey to Burgundy by luxurious coach with on board facility (soft drinks, tea, coffee, cakes).
  • *7 nights stay at the Chateau in double room with ensuite.
  • (*early morning access to your room on arrival on 22nd December will qualify as a seven nights stay).
  • No luggage allowance restrictions!
  • All private guided tours, entrance fees to vineyards, Domains and tastings.
  • Full board basis throughout : (with the exception of lunch 24th December).
  • Three course gourmet French dinner freshly prepared by qualified experienced Chefs and served by staff.
  • Aperitif, canapés and wine included with lunch and dinner.
  • Snacks, fruits, soft drinks, tea / coffee, fresh cakes available at the chateau all day.
